VJ Day Event - 15th August, 2025

2025 will mark the 80th anniversaries of Victory in Europe (8th May) and Victory in Japan (15th August).
It is an opportunity for the nation to come together to honour and pay tribute to the Second World War generation from across the UK and Commonwealth, through a series of national and local events and activities.
To celebrate VJ Day in Burnhope, Lanchester and surrounding areas, the Burnhope Beacon will be lit.
The event will be as follows :-
7.45 p.m. Refreshments and music
8.00 p.m. Service of thanksgiving
8.30 p.m. Lighting of Beacon
